Allah's Bestowed Takqua
What assurance does one have that he
or she will be in Paradise? How sure are we that we will be resurrected
together with the righteous in case Allah wills that we die now?
What hope do we have as we face the coming Day of Judgment?
To many people there is only one answer to these questions.
They say that their salvation depends upon by their being good
and doing good. Many of us believe that our good deeds carry
a great amount of merits to offset the bad deeds that we have
done. If we have more good deeds than the bad ones, then Allah
will reward us with admission to the Gardens of Paradise. Therefore,
we conclude that our assurance to salvation lies on the goodness
and religiosity that we perform for Allah.
There is only one path to the Gardens of Paradise. The Fatiha
("Opening Chapter") of the Noble Qur'an calls
it as the Straight Way. It is "the way of those on whom
You have bestowed Your Grace, those whose (portion) is
not wrath, and who go not astray." Surah 1:7 Allah said,
"Verily, this is My Way, leading straight: follow it. Follow
not (other) paths: They will scatter you about from His
(great) Path. Thus doth He command you that you may be
righteous." Surah 6:153.
